One of the Original Towns

This position provides secretarial and clerical support for the Highway Superintendent. Duties include, but are not limited to:

*Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries from residents, contractors, state agencies, and vendors.

* Maintaining confidential records, preparing correspondence and reports and assisting with personnel.

*Prepare bid documents, contracts, and other official documents.

*Assists in preparing the annual Highway Department budget.

*Processes invoices and vouchers.

*Coordinates procurement documentation in accordance with municipal purchasing policies.

*Maintains records of CHIPS, PAVE-NY, and other state and federal highway aid programs.

*Assists with grant applications and reimbursement documentation.

*Maintains records of permits, road openings, drainage issues, and work orders.

*Coordinates with the Town Clerk, Supervisor’s Office, Building Department, and other municipal departments.

*Assists in preparing responses to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests as directed.

*Maintains records retention in accordance with New York State requirements.
