DreamWorks’ live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’
to be shown with lights up, volume down
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – As part of Dutchess County’s ongoing efforts to build an inclusive community for those with disabilities, Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino invites families and residents of all abilities to a free sensory-sensitive screening of “How to Train Your Dragon” on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Lyceum Cinemas, 15 Old Farm Road in Red Hook. Doors open at 10 a.m., and the movie will begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration for this free event is required, and residents can register online at dutchessny.gov/movie.
Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino said, “We’re thrilled to bring this sensory-friendly movie experience to Red Hook, providing a fun and inclusive atmosphere for neighbors of all abilities. This free event is thoughtfully designed to ensure everyone can relax and enjoy ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ in a comfortable and welcoming setting.”
The theater will modify lighting and sound levels to create a more comfortable experience for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and those with sensory sensitivities. Closed captioning will also be provided.
This free event is open to individuals, families, and support organizations. Concessions will be available for purchase; outside food and beverages are not allowed.
